I may not be a huge fan of the books anymore, but I really enjoy finding doujinshi. The way it's adapted for Japanese culture is really fun sometimes.
As everyone and their brother's cousin seems to have jumped on the bandwagon for this, you would be hardpressed not to find a variety of stories and art styles for everyone's favorite teenage wizard (sorry Sabrina).
TITLE: Gozen Reiji Minami no Tou de
GENRE: Ron x Hermione
CIRCLE: Sumomonoki
SUMMARY: Ron and Hermione argue over the Yule Ball and Harry finds a very sentimental item from the past.
THOUGHTS: As this can be found in almost any doujinshi store, I finally caved and bought myself a copy. I think it was worth it.
It's always emotional to come across something left behind by a deceased loved one, and Harry's parents are no exception. While playing Quiddich he flies across a small tower and stops to rest. There he sees a special mark on a stone. After playing with his wand, this mark reveals his parent's names. This greatly saddens the orphaned young wizard, but it also works as a sort of therapy, and he leaves with new hope. In another story, Ron recalls the fight he had with Hermione over the fact that he was too much of a coward to ask her to the dance. They become so loud that they bother Harry and leave to get some privacy. They talk for awhile until Harry shows up with his invisibility cloak, to keep them all from being caught.
TITLE: Spring Flower Easter
GENRE: Normal
CIRCLE: Shooting Star Cinema
SUMMARY: It's Easter time at Hogwarts! Dumbledore is so enthusiastic he gives everyone bunny ears! Then, an Easter Egg Hunt!
THOUGHTS: This doujinshi is very cute, though short. If you've ever wanted to see a bunny Snape or bunny Draco, check this out! While not the best HP doujinshi out there, I still recommend it to collectors.
TITLE: Sweet Berry Kiss
GENRE: Mild Shounen-Ai
CIRCLE: Zuihouzakura
SUMMARY: Harry, Ron, George, and Fred head out to Romania to visit the second oldest Weasley son, Charlie. While there, a baby dragon hatches (the twins are especially thrilled). But soon, a ill-mannered scientist comes by and hurts the dragon. Harry associates this with his life and goes nuts. Only Ron is able to calm him.
THOUGHTS: I love the interactions between Harry and Ron, as the possible deepness of their relationship is explored. Plus, seeing Fred and George change into Sailor Senshi to smite the evil-doer is priceless!
TITLE: Weasley Love - Twins Quiddich Go! Go!
GENRE: Normal
CIRCLE: Zuihouzakura
SUMMARY: The first story involves the twins, Lee Jordan, and Harry at a Quiddich game. There is also a mini story about Percy and Penelope, and one with Fred and George as little youngin's talking to Charlie.
THOUGHTS: I got this as a Christmas present and wouldn't dream of selling it. A Weasley Family centered doujinshi, so if you're a fan of these guys, check it out. Very cute artwork, and fun, even if I can't read it.
